News Two student films at the Paris Israeli Film Festival Once again we are proud to take part in the leading Paris Israeli Film Festival. "Shabbat" by Tal Comay and "Switch" by Gideon Dayan Force will be screening there later this month.

News Best Screenplay at Schoolfilmfest Munich! Recent graduate Naama Shmueli took the prize for the best screenplay at the prestigious Munich Student Film Festival. Her film "The Silent One" is well deserving!

News HotDocs World Premiere for Alumna Margarita Linton The Artist's Daughter, Oil on Canvas , by Margarita Linton will have its world premiere at the leading HotDocs Film Festival. Other alumni on board are cinematographer and producer Yaniv Linton, editor Neta Dvorkis and composer Nadav Hollander. Following HotDocs the film will have its national premiere at DocAviv.

Award Ministry of Culture Prize! Congratulations to Renen Schorr, the founding director of the School, on winning a life-time achievement award from the ministry of culture! Renen led Sam Spiegel for over 30 years and was a major force in the entire industry. He worked tirelessly to ensure that Israeli cinema has a place on the world stage. He recently completed a documentary feature about his own facsinating family history. Mazal tov!

News School alumni and students in the Jerusalem Film Festival 2021 Fifth year student Tal Comay is competing with her short Shabbat, in addition to alumna Ahinoam Capon with her debut short He Can Sleep on the Couch . Other alumni presenting at the festival include Tom Shoval with his feature Shake Your Cares Away staring Berenice Bejo, and Orit Fouks Rotem with Cinema Sebaya .

News Israeli Academy Award Nominations Excited to announce our many alumni who are nominated this year for the Ophir Prize - including Dani Rosenberg for his new feature "The Thin Soldier"; Matan Yair for "A Room of His Own"; Moran Ifergan for "Ronit Elkabetz Je t'aime" and "Foriegn Movie" by Boaz Frankel. Many other alumni are nominated in various categories and we are proud as our school continues to pave the way for the Israeli industry.

News Netflix at JSFS "This is an exciting time to be sitting where you are" is how Netflix executive Larry Tanz opened an enlightening and engaging evening with our students and alumni, referring to the opportunity of being a student and creator in these times. Larry Tanz, Vice President Europe Middle East and Africa Series and Anna Nagler, Director Local Language Series, Central and Eastern Europe, visited the School for an exclusive talk moderated by writer-director Asaf Bernstein (Fauda ) on the topic of Netflix and authentic storytelling.
